TEXPAK™ Instructions
DO NOT OPEN EITHER TEXPAK™ CONTAINER BEFORE READING THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
TEXPAK™ is not Cap Sensitive unless Parts A and B have been mixed.
For use only by licensed professional blasters.
1. Open both liquid tubes (Part A and B).
2. Invert small tube (Part B) and pour into large tube (Part A). See Figure 1.
3. Screw cap tightly onto large tube of mixed liquids.
4. Shake once.
5. At this point, TEXPAK™ has become a 1.1 detonator sensitive explosive.
6. Mixed TEXPAK may be detonated in the following ways:
a. A #8 or stronger detonator may be inserted into the cap well. (see Figure 2)
b. 50 grain detonating cord may be taped along side of tube and into the cap well (see Figure 3.)
IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE
1. ALWAYS remember that after its two liquid components have been mixed, TEXPAK™ is a High Explosive and, therefore, can be extremely dangerous.
2. NEVER tamp the mixed explosive TEXPAK™ package excessively as it may adversely affect the explosives.
3. ALWAYS store the liquid components (Parts A and B) as flammable liquids, such that they do not come into contact with caustic materials or amines, as they may form an explosive mixture.
4. ALWAYS store the TEXPAK™ liquid components (Parts A and B) in a clean, dry area.
5. ALWAYS store mixed TEXPAK™ in an explosive magazine which meets Explosives Regulations.
6. ALWAYS purchase, transport, store, handle and use TEXPAK™ in strict accordance with Explosive Regulations.
7. NEVER use TEXPAK™ unless you are experienced in the use of explosives or have been instructed in their use.
8. NEVER leave mixed or unmixed TEXPAK™ components where children or unauthorized persons can access them.
9. In the event of fire, evacuate all personnel from the area. NEVER fight an explosives fire.
10. ALWAYS use up or legally dispose of mixed TEXPAK™ explosives, detonating cords and blasting caps prior to the expiration of your Explosives: Purchase and Possession Permit.
11. NEVER smoke or have matches or lighters near either the unmixed or mixed TEXPAK™ or other explosives.
