The Dead Stop™ is the lightest IIIA ballistic shield in the world. No one else makes one lighter. The shield got its inspiration from development of a ballistic panel designed to protect the new 7 World Trade Center Building in New York City.
The material created was strong and light and after extensive NIJ testing became the “Dead Stop™ Shield"
The full size 24” by 48” Dead Stop™ Shield with window is only 14 lb The 24” by 40” shield is only 12 lb Compared to similar sized shields, Dead Stop™ Shield is 10 lb lighter.
A full sized Dead Stop™ was recently shot at by Law Enforcement Officers outside of Philadelphia, PA. After 20+ rounds of .40 S&W, .45 ACP with one 12 gauge .00 buck shot and one slug shot, the shield remained effective with no penetrations. The ballistic view port took 7 direct hits with no penetration.
